Briggs & Stratton generators are continuously ranked as the best generators to purchase.
As they offer a wide variety of generators including portable, home, inverter, 3500 watt etc, three generators remain the most versatile and powerful compared to the others:
In this guide, I will be analyzing these three Briggs and Stratton generator reviews by giving an in-depth description, naming their key features, analyzing their pros and cons, and providing my final verdict on each generator on who I believe the generator is best for.
1. Briggs and Stratton p2200 review – Overall Best
After experimenting with the P2200, I have come to the conclusion that it truly is versatile.
This inverter generator is not only powerful for its size, but portable which can be a key selling point for potential buyers.
As the website says, this generator is absolutely best for camping and powering outdoor equipment.
If you are in urgent need to power a camper, the Briggs and Sratton P2200 generator is the best possible option for you.
In my research, I’ve come across reviews claiming that “it was able to power my home’s appliances for three days straight!” While this may be true in the short run,
I certainly would not test it with the P2200. While it can run on 1700 watts, it is best suited for the RV.
If I could be completely honest, I would leave it in the camper or tailgater as that is it’s real calling.
Because this unit can convert AC to DC power and vice-versa, it can keep it’s total harmonic distortion under 3%. This sets it apart from other generators in its class as most other units with this powering capability just can’t do that.
You can even charge your phone and or DSLR on those long camping trips just to brag to your friends about it.
There aren’t a substantial amount of special features put into the P2200 however, it is nice to note its key features as quoted from the official manual.
The P2200 can run for eight hours on a full tank at a quarter of the rated load. As compared to other models, the P2200 is extremely fuel efficient. Especially as it utilizes an auto-idle control feature.
It is much quieter than the average generator at 59 dB and 57 dB on eco mode. You can comfortably talk to your family without disruption at this noise rating.
Because this unit comes with a parallel connection capability, two of such engines may be connected to double the power.
Low oil shutdown is another feature this generator has to protect the engine from damage. It automatically ensures the engine shuts off when the level of oil gets too low.

Our Rating
The Briggs & Stratton P2200 inverter generator is an amazing generator for campers, trailers, and tailgating.
While the uses can be versatile, it is best 2200 watt generator that this particular unit is used for only those purposes.
Using the generator for higher voltage activities, which is possible,
I don’t recommend it as a result of the small tank limiting runtime and the eventual damage that would be brought upon it through constant use for larger needs.
Ultimately, this is your camping and RV generator.
2. Briggs and Stratton 3500 watt generator- Best for Household & RV
The 3500 watt generator, Is an absolutely great generator for powering your essentials during a power outage or natural emergency.
While the size is smaller, it can pack a punch. This unit is the most powerful on this list with the ability to run on 3500 watts but start at 4375 watts.
The B&S generator oil capacity can vary however, the 3500 has the best oil capacity as compared to the rest of the generators on this list.
This unit can run for 14 hours at a 25% load capacity which is truly phenomenal.
When I was testing this model, I made it a point to test it in an RV and my home.
It powered with ease and power however, I noticed it may have been too much for my large appliances for longer than 14 hours.
The reviews I’ve encountered across the internet claimed the same thing.
Having tested it, I think it is best to power appliances in 14 hour increments as it is the most efficient.
This generator produces enough power to power smaller appliances but also RVs and tailgaters.

Our Rating
Overall, the 3500 is a solid generator. If you were one that genuinely enjoys camping, using an RV, tailgating, it is more logical to purchase this generator over the P2200.
This generator is truly reliable for camping and RV, tailgater uses. For large appliances, it can work for fourteen hours at half load.
3. Briggs and Stratton q6500 review- Best Emergency Backup
As mentioned explicitly on the Briggs and Stratton website, this generator is QUIET. The official description mentions how it provides “quiet confidence” in case of emergencies.
That statement is extremely accurate especially from what I’ve found in my research.
The crazy aspect of this generator is its power. It runs at 5000 watts and starts at 6500.
When I heard this unit for the first time, I never imagined that it was so powerful. The sound was just so quiet and smooth.
It easily has the power to power a small home during a natural disaster and you would be able to talk to your family about football in the background.
I was blown away when I first tried this unit to power my appliances. I would often go back to it just to make sure that it was turned on and running. This lack of sound separates the Briggs and Stratton q6500 from its competitors.
After testing each of the three generators on this list, I can come to the conclusion that the Briggs and Stratton q6500 inverter generator is my personal favorite generator.
If you are looking for a B&S home generator to power your smaller home and appliances, the Q6500 is the best purchase you could make.
Quiet Power Series Inverter Technology makes this generator much quieter than its competitors. One can have a conversation with ease with the generator running in the background.
This generator has the power to power very sensitive electronics however, I personally do not recommend it because that would be undermining the power this generator has.
The Q6500 also has a noise- reducing shell that prevents absurdly loud noises. This shell also helps to protect the internal engine because it is embedded in a thick plastic shell.
Compared to its competitors, the Q6500 is much smaller. This is in direct correlation to it’s small fuel tank and design of the engine. Simply integrating the fuel tank and engine strategically, this generator is able to shave off 50-75 pounds.

This generator was engineered to perform substantially better than the competition.
In essence, this generator competes better than the competition in many avenues. The Q6500 would be best to power larger appliances and possibly a smaller home.
All in all, B&S has done an excellent job with creating a generator that has the ability to compete at a quieter level.
Final Thoughts:
These three generators are true powerhouses. While each of the three has a different ideal use, they all function as top notch compared to other generator brands.
It is because of this Briggs and Stratton generators have been ranked globally as the best for years.
